First of all, congratulations to every single one of you. You all did a phenomenal job at auditions and should be so proud. Unfortunately in theater there are only so many roles, and sometimes you will be a lead and sometimes you'll be in the ensemble. But you know what? This show will be made better by EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU! There is no small part. Our performance wouldn't be as good with even one of you not being a part of it. We are so impressed by all of you and are so excited to create an incredible show with you. No matter what part you have in this year's production, be proud, be kind, and have fun.
Along those lines, there have already been rumblings of people being mean to others about the parts that they may or may not have gotten. Lots of "you'll get this because you're related to one of the directors," or "you'll get this because your mom works with the directors," or this, that, and the other. I will not put up with ANY of that! NONE! This is cruel and NOT how you treat your fellow cast mates. Each role was selected by a unanimous decision among all four directors, not by just one. You are a team that will work better together than separated by unkind words, thoughts, or actions. We have 50 kids involved in this play. There will be zero tolerance for disrespect between performers. Immediate removal will be the consequence. Theater is a wonderful outlet, a fun achievement, and a privilege. Please treat it as such moving forward. Congratulate your team, encourage your friends, make new ones, and start working together now to create a show that will be unforgettable both on and off stage.
As a director, I can wholeheartedly say that I cannot wait to work with each and every one of you. The talent at MRE is unbelievable, and the students are every bit as great. Getting to know you all during classes and auditions has been such a blast and I cannot wait to continue that relationship as we work together to create something mind-blowing.
Without further delay, below is the cast of Maple Ridge Elementary's production of Disney's High School Musical Jr. Click the file below. Please make sure to read through the entire document as most of you have multiple parts to play. Featured solos and understudy lists are at the bottom, so don't forget to check those as well. Please note that we do not cut anyone, so if somehow you do not see your name, please let us know asap. Fourth graders, please remember that main roles were reserved for 5th and 6th graders as we discussed. That being said, we were blown away by you and can't wait to feature you in the coming years!
